We want you to be able to read and use our website as easily as possible. With this in mind, we are continually improving the accessibility and usability of the website.

How do we define and measure accessibility?

We refer to the guidelines drafted by a working group at the Web Accessibility Initiative part of the international body that runs the web, the W3C.

Our website is currently working towards the guidelines for colour which say that the contrast ratio between "normal" foreground and background text should be at least 5:1. Amost all the pages currently conform to this.

Font size

If you find the web pages hard to read, the text can be easily resized using your browser – Internet Explorer, Firefox or whatever you use.

With Firefox/Safari/Opera/Internet Explorer 7 or 8, hold down the ctrl key and the = key. This zooms in. Ctrl+ - zooms out. You can do this more than once.

Text tags

All our hyperlinks and images are described when you hover over them so that they can be as informative as possible to screen readers.

But if there are pages you find hard to access please let us know so we can work to address this and keep you updated.
